| Palestinian film on reality of life in Gaza Strip under attacks and siege wins at Tunisian festival |

| Gaza / PNN – A documentary by Palestine Media Production won third prize at the Festival of Arab Radio and Television. Held between the eleventh and sixteenth of July in the Tunisian capital, the film festival honored “Gaza 2009.” Documentaries were submitted from Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Egypt and Palestine. The judging committee of experts watched the films and selected the best for this year. “Gaza 2009” shows the painful truth of life for Palestinians in Gaza who have lived in the shadow of major attacks and siege. The magnitude of the tragedy and destruction was put on film, says Pal Media, to export reality to the world. The major attacks began in late December and lasted more than three weeks. Reconstruction efforts have been blocked by the Israelis who are being accused of war crimes by the Red Cross, Human Rights Watch and the United Nations. The siege has been ongoing for approximately three years. |
