| Bethlehem / PNN - The work of iconographer Ian Ambrose is being featured this week at Dar Annadwa, the Cultural Center in Bethlehem's Old City. The opening begins at 5 pm Thursday at Dar Annadwa’s Al Khouf Gallery. Ambrose is a British expatriate who has been living and working in the Middle East for several years. A former Anglican priest who converted to Latin Catholicism, Ambrose now expresses his Christian faith, say supporters, through iconography. He has worked with Greek Orthodox, Latin rite Catholic and Melkite communities in Palestine, Jordan and Egypt. His local work includes the interior dome of St. Nicholas Church in Beit Jala. This exhibit will feature some of his most recent iconographic work; not the standard souvenirs that are put out by the tourist trade, but ones that explore iconography within the life of Palestine today, especially during this era of occupation. Ambrose is considered one of the most advanced iconographers from Western Europe, and says that he sees his work as a means to bring people of different religious faiths together to understand Christianity through the icon, as opposed to believing that icons are exclusively for worship in the Eastern Christian tradition. http://english.pnn.ps/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=6593 Les articles publiés ne reflètent pas obligatoirement les opinions du CJPP5, qui dénie toute responsabilité dans leurs contenus, lesquels n'engagent que leurs auteurs ou leurs traducteurs.
